Kurdistan Region; Missile and Drone Attack by the Islamic Republic of Iran on the Headquarters of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan with Several Dead and Injured

Following new attacks by the military forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the positions of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan in the Kurdistan Region, several people have been killed and injured, raising concerns about the situation of civilians and refugees.

According to Kolbarnews on Friday, April 17, 2026, the military forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran launched a wave of missile and drone attacks on family camps and the headquarters of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan in various areas of the Kurdistan Region, resulting in significant casualties.

According to initial information, during the bombing of one civilian camp, a young man identified as Shahin Azarbarzin lost his life, and his father, Nader Azarbarzin, was severely injured and transferred to medical centers for treatment.
At the same time, in another attack targeting a unit of this party’s Peshmerga forces, two female Peshmerga named Neda Miri and Samira Allahyari were killed. It has also been reported that several other Peshmerga were injured in these attacks.

These attacks have taken place while the border areas of the Kurdistan Region are in an unstable security situation, and the targeting of civilian camps and places housing Kurdish refugees from Iran has raised widespread concern among human rights organizations.
