Frouzan Nojavan (Eslami), an English language teacher, director of the Nojavan Language Academy, and a well-known Kurdish blogger in Urmia, was temporarily released from Urmia Central Prison after 17 days in detention by security forces, upon posting bail set at 5 billion tomans.

According to Kolbarnews, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, Frouzan Nojavan (Eslami) was released from the women’s ward of Urmia Central Prison after 17 days in detention upon posting bail of 5 billion tomans. She had been arrested on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, by security forces without the presentation of a judicial warrant and was transferred to the “9 Pelleh” security detention center in Urmia for interrogation.
According to received information, Frouzan Nojavan was denied access to legal counsel and family visits throughout her detention. Following the completion of the interrogation process, she was transferred from the security detention center to the women’s ward of Urmia Central Prison.
