Karaj; Death of Khodadad Alafti During Nationwide Protests

Khodadad Alafti, a citizen from Kermanshah and a resident of Karaj, is among those killed in the nationwide protests in the city and lost his life during the suppression of protesters.

According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, Khodadad Alafti, a 65-year-old citizen from Kermanshah, was directly shot with live ammunition by suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic during nationwide protests in Fardis Square in Karaj and died as a result of the gunshot.

The body of this Kurdish citizen was buried in Karaj on Monday, January 12, 2026.

During the nationwide protests, the families of those killed, in addition to mourning their loved ones, have faced security pressure and restrictions imposed by government institutions in the process of receiving the bodies and holding burial ceremonies.
