Fereshteh Keshavarzi, a 29-year-old Kurdish woman from Harsin in Kermanshah and a resident of Tehran, has been identified as one of the victims of the nationwide protests in Marlik, Karaj, who lost her life due to direct live gunfire.

According to Kolbarnews, on Friday, January 9, 2026, Fereshteh Keshavarzi was targeted by live ammunition fired by suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran during nationwide protests in the Marlik area of Karaj, and the bullet striking her head caused her death.
Her body was buried at Behesht-e Rezvan Cemetery in Parand, located in Robat Karim, Tehran.
Fereshteh Keshavarzi was the mother of two children, a daughter and a son.
Families of victims of nationwide protests have consistently faced security pressure, threats, forced commitments, and restrictions during the process of receiving their loved ones’ bodies and holding burial ceremonies, and in many cases, the handover of bodies has been made conditional upon security authorities’ demands.
