Forty-three days after the arbitrary arrest of Shler Mam Qaderi, a 34-year-old woman from Mahabad, received reports indicate that she has been subjected to severe physical torture during detention and, despite suffering from breast cancer, continues to be deprived of full medical treatment, medication, and her basic rights.

According to Kolbarnews, informed sources stated that in recent days, following severe physical torture, fractures, and internal bleeding, Shler Mam Qaderi was transferred under heavy security measures to one of the medical centers in Urmia and underwent surgery.
However, before the completion of the treatment process and necessary medical care, she was once again returned to Urmia Prison.
According to received information, she, who is responsible for caring for her two daughters, including a young child, continues to be deprived of the right to meet with her children, maintain regular contact with her family, and access a lawyer.
Sources close to her family say that during her 43 days of arbitrary detention, she has only had one brief phone call lasting a few seconds with her family.
Previously, on April 24, 2026, in an exclusive report coinciding with the eighteenth day of Shler Mam Qaderi’s detention, information had been published regarding her being held in complete secrecy at an undisclosed location in Urmia. Additionally, on April 29, 2026, coinciding with the twenty-third day of her detention, reports were published concerning the deprivation of this prisoner from access to a lawyer and the severe physical torture inflicted upon her.
Shler Mam Qaderi, who has been struggling with breast cancer for more than one year and undergoing chemotherapy, has in both periods of detention been deprived of access to essential medications and continuation of her treatment process. Concerns regarding her physical condition have intensified amid reports of torture in security detention centers and her return to prison despite her poor physical condition.
This Kurdish citizen was arrested in the early hours of Thursday, April 8, 2026, following a raid by security forces on her home and without the presentation of a judicial warrant, before being transferred to an undisclosed location. This is while the recent arrest marks her second arbitrary detention within the past three months.
Previously, at midnight on February 1, 2026, dozens of armed security forces broke into her home and, accompanied by violence, threats, and insults, arrested Shler Mam Qaderi in such a manner that she was not even allowed to put on appropriate clothing. At that time, she was transferred to one of the security detention centers of the Intelligence Office in Mahabad and, on February 5, 2026, was temporarily released after posting bail amounting to 2 billion and 500 million tomans.
According to informed sources, during her first period of detention Shler Mam Qaderi was also subjected to severe physical and psychological torture, and due to the intensity of the beatings one of her legs was fractured, to the extent that after her release she was transferred directly to the hospital and underwent surgery while still requiring continued treatment. During that detention period as well, she was deprived of access to a lawyer and meetings with her children and only had two brief phone calls with her family.
Informed sources have also emphasized that Shler Mam Qaderi supported herself and her children through house-cleaning work, and the continuation of her detention has left her children without a guardian and in difficult living conditions.
At the time of compiling this report, the security and judicial institutions have provided no explanation regarding the reasons for the arrest, the charges brought against this citizen, or the status of her case. At the same time, the continued deprivation of treatment, medication, legal counsel, family visits, and contact with her children has increased widespread concerns regarding her physical condition and the serious violation of her human rights.
