Bukan; Rasul Yadyar Released on Heavy Bail After Four Months of Detention and Torture

Rasul Yadyar, a citizen from Bukan, was temporarily released on heavy bail of six billion tomans after more than four months of detention in security institutions, during which reports had emerged regarding severe torture and deprivation of medical services, legal counsel, and communication with his family.

According to Kolbarnews, on Saturday, May 23, 2026, Rasul Yadyar was released after more than four months of detention in detention centers and facilities under the supervision of security institutions upon posting bail amounting to six billion tomans.
The release of this citizen took place while his family had repeatedly expressed concern over his physical condition and health during recent months, and throughout the entire period of detention he had been deprived of the right to access a lawyer, make phone calls, and have in-person visits with his family.

Previously, on December 26, 2025, during the eleventh day of this citizen’s detention, reports had been published indicating that Rasul Yadyar, after enduring severe physical torture in one of the security detention centers, had been transferred to the quarantine section of Bukan Prison. According to published information, despite his poor physical condition, he had been deprived of receiving medical treatment.

According to an informed source, during the initial days of detention Rasul Yadyar was subjected to severe physical torture in the detention center of the Intelligence Office in Urmia, resulting in fractures to his hand, nose, jaw, teeth, and two ribs. Extensive bruising and injuries across different parts of his body, as well as wounds to his head and face, had also been reported. According to this source, despite his urgent need for medical attention, he was transferred to the quarantine section of Bukan Prison and denied treatment.

Rasul Yadyar had been arrested on the evening of Tuesday, December 16, 2025, without the presentation of a judicial warrant by security forces and transferred to an undisclosed location.

Rasul Yadyar, 30 years old, is from the village of “Gog Tapeh” in the district of Bukan, is married, and works as a baker.
