Elham Zeynali, a young nurse and hospital supervisor from Kermanshah, lost her life during nationwide protests in the city after being directly shot with live ammunition by government forces.

According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, Elham Zeynali was directly shot with live ammunition from behind by suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic during nationwide protests in Kermanshah and was severely wounded in the lower back, abdomen, and uterus.
She was transferred to hospital but died due to the severity of her injuries.
Her body was buried on January 13, 2026, at Bagh-e Ferdows Cemetery in Kermanshah.
Elham Zeynali, daughter of Fatemeh and Sohrab, was known among her colleagues and patients as a compassionate nurse and a well-regarded supervisor, and she was also responsible for caring for her elderly mother.
As of the time of preparing this report, it is not known whether the family was required to pay money or sign a written pledge in order to receive the body of this deceased citizen. However, informed sources had previously told Kolbarnews that government institutions in Kermanshah have demanded amounts ranging from 700 million to one billion tomans from families in exchange for handing over the bodies of those killed, forcing families to pay these sums.
