Kermanshah; Death of Mohammadmehdi Bagheri, a 16-Year-Old Teenager, During Nationwide Protests

Mohammadmehdi Bagheri, a 16-year-old teenager from Kermanshah, was targeted by live gunfire from suppressive forces during nationwide protests and, after being arrested, died from severe bleeding on the way. His body was abandoned on the roadside.

According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026, Mohammadmehdi Bagheri was shot by plainclothes forces in the Maskan neighborhood of Kermanshah while chanting the slogan “Death to Khamenei.” Despite severe bleeding, he was arrested, and plainclothes forces placed his bloodied body into a vehicle and took him away.

Based on statements from some detainees who were with him, the teenager died en route, and government forces abandoned his body by the roadside.

After Mohammadmehdi’s death, his family was subjected to pressure and threats by security institutions and the IRGC, including threats that his 10-year-old brother would also be arrested. These pressures to silence the family have continued.

The body of this teenager was buried on January 11, 2026, at Bagh-e Ferdows Cemetery in Kermanshah.
