Urmia; Arrest of Forouzan Eslami, English Language Teacher, by Security Forces

Forouzan Eslami, a Kurdish citizen from Urmia and an English language teacher, was arrested by security forces in this city and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to Kolbarnews, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, security forces approached the location where Forouzan Eslami was present and arrested her without presenting a judicial warrant.
According to received information, Forouzan Eslami is the director of the “Nojavan” Language Academy in Urmia and is also active on social media as one of the well-known Kurdish bloggers.

At the time of compiling this report, no information is available regarding the reasons for the arrest, her place of detention, or the possible charges brought against this English language teacher, and the follow-ups by her family have so far remained unanswered.
