Two citizens from Saqqez remain in an uncertain condition more than three months after their arrest, while their families continue to have no information regarding their fate or current situation.

According to Kolbarnews, on June 10, 2026, Abdollah Mahjour, 59 years old, and Salar Azar, 36 years old, both residents of Saqqez, had been held in the custody of security institutions for 95 days.
Despite the passage of this period, the responsible authorities have provided no information regarding their condition, intensifying concerns about their physical health and detention conditions.
According to obtained information, the two citizens were transferred to one of the security detention centers in Saqqez after initially being held in security detention facilities in Sanandaj. Nevertheless, they continue to be deprived of family visits and telephone contact.
Over recent months, the families of Abdollah Mahjour and Salar Azar have repeatedly visited various government institutions in Saqqez and Sanandaj in an effort to obtain information about them. However, they have so far received no clear response regarding the detainees’ whereabouts, the status of their cases, or the conditions of their detention.
It had previously been reported that Abdollah Mahjour suffers from an underlying illness and disability and had also been subjected to arrest and torture by security institutions in previous years.
Abdollah Mahjour and Salar Azar, who are cousins, were arrested on Sunday, March 8, 2026, by forces affiliated with the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) after leaving their home in Saqqez. At the same time, security agents confiscated their mobile phones and, following the arrests, answered some incoming calls made to the two citizens’ phones.
