Ilam: Arrest of a Kurdish Civil Activist by Security Forces

Saeed Asareh, a Kurdish civil and cultural activist from Malekshahi County in Ilam Province, was arrested by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to Kolbarnews, on 30 June 2026, security forces arrested Saeed Asareh, a Kurdish civil activist and young resident of Malekshahi, and transferred him to an undisclosed location without presenting a judicial warrant.

At the time of writing, no official information has been released regarding the reasons for his arrest, the charges brought against him, or his place of detention. The security authorities have also refused to provide any explanation.

According to information received, following his arrest, Saeed Asareh has been denied access to legal counsel, telephone contact, and family visits. His situation remains unknown, and his legal status continues to be shrouded in uncertainty.
