Ilam; Continued Detention of 8 Citizens and Lack of Information About Their Condition

At least eight citizens from various cities in Ilam Province have been arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic and there is still no information available about their fate.

According to Kolbarnews, from January 29 to February 11, 2026, Younes Naser, Yousef Azadkhani, Khalil Esmaeili, Ali Hatami, Hassan Mohammadi, Kian Gheisar Beigi, Nabi Zamani, and Abdolsahab Jafarzadeh were arrested and transferred to unknown locations without the presentation of judicial warrants. These arrests took place as part of the ongoing wave of widespread and arbitrary arrests in Ilam Province.

According to received information, despite the passage of periods ranging from several days to more than 16 days since their arrests, no official institution has provided any explanation regarding their place of detention, physical condition, or possible charges, and their families remain in complete uncertainty.

Details of their arrests are as follows:

Younes Naser, from Asemanabad, Ilam, was arrested on January 29, 2026, and has been held in uncertainty for 16 days.

Yousef Azadkhani, from Asemanabad, Ilam, was arrested on February 2, 2026, and there has been no information about his condition for 12 days.

Khalil Esmaeili, from Lumar, a district of Sirvan, was arrested on February 3, 2026, and has remained in uncertainty for 11 days.

Ali Hatami, a 34-year-old Kurdish citizen from Badreh, Ilam, was arrested on February 3, 2026, and no information has been released about his fate for 11 days.

Hassan Mohammadi, a Kurdish young man from Badreh, was arrested on February 8, 2026, and has been held in uncertainty for 6 days.

Kian Gheisar Beigi, a 19-year-old student from Sarableh, was arrested on February 10, 2026, and no information has been available about his condition for 4 days.

Nabi Zamani, from Asemanabad, Ilam, was arrested on February 10, 2026, and has remained in complete uncertainty for 4 days.

Abdolsahab Jafarzadeh, from Badreh, was arrested on February 11, 2026, and no information has been released about his fate for 3 days.

All of these citizens have been deprived of the right to access a lawyer, telephone contact, and family visits since their arrest, and the families’ follow-ups have so far received no clear response from responsible institutions.
