Bukan: Three Citizens Transferred to Prison as Court Sets Bail of 2 Billion Tomans for Temporary Release

Mansour Ghaderzadeh, Yousef Amini, and Ali Shokri, three citizens and cultural activists from Bukan, have been transferred to Bukan Central Prison after more than two weeks of detention and interrogation in a security detention facility. The court has set bail of 2 billion tomans for the temporary release of each of them.

According to Kolbarnews, on 28 June 2026, Mansour Ghaderzadeh, Yousef Amini, and Ali Shokri were transferred to Bukan Central Prison after 19, 16, and 13 days, respectively, in detention and interrogation at a security detention facility.
According to information obtained, the judicial authorities have set 2 billion tomans in bail for the temporary release of each of the three men.

At the time of writing, no official information has been released regarding the reasons for their arrests, the charges brought against them, or the status of the judicial proceedings. They were also denied access to legal counsel, telephone contact, and family visits throughout their detention.

Mansour Ghaderzadeh, 43, son of Ahmad, originally from the village of Qaluy Zendan in Mahabad County and a resident of the Mirawai neighbourhood of Bukan, was arrested by security forces on 10 June 2026 without the presentation of a judicial warrant and transferred to an undisclosed location.

Yousef Amini, a 50-year-old retired teacher from the village of Aliabad in Bukan County, was arrested on the evening of 13 June 2026, when security forces raided his home without presenting a judicial warrant. He had previously been arbitrarily arrested for attending a wedding ceremony while wearing Kurdish clothing matching that of a number of other participants.

Ali Shokri, a cultural activist from Bukan, was arrested on 16 June 2026, when security forces raided his workplace without presenting a judicial warrant. He was subsequently transferred to a security detention facility in Urmia for interrogation.
