Kaziwa Parviznia, a young woman from Mahabad, has been temporarily released from Urmia Central Prison after 20 days in detention upon posting bail.
According to Kolbarnews, on 1 July 2026, Kaziwa Parviznia, a resident of Mahabad County, was released from Urmia Central Prison on bail pending the completion of judicial proceedings after approximately twenty days in detention.
On 12 June 2026, Intelligence Office agents raided the Parviznia family home without presenting a judicial warrant. As Kazhiwa was not at home, they arrested her niece, Negar Parviznia, instead. The security authorities subsequently informed the family that the release of the detained relative was conditional upon Kazhiwa Parviznia presenting herself to the authorities. Following this pressure, Kaziwa reported to the Mahabad Intelligence Office, where she was arrested and transferred to a security detention facility in Urmia.
According to the report, the judicial and security authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran interrogated her over the allegation of “filming during the 40-day war between the United States, Israel, and Iran.” After undergoing interrogation at an undisclosed detention facility, a security case was opened against her, and she was transferred to Urmia Central Prison, where she remained in detention until her release on bail.
At the time of writing, no information has been made available regarding the formal charges brought against her.
