Ilam; 26 Days of Arbitrary Detention and Complete Lack of Information About the Fate of a Citizen

Arash Azizi, a 16-year-old Kurdish adolescent from the village of Bozhan, a district of Sirvan County in Ilam Province, has been in the custody of security institutions for 26 days, and no information is available about his place of detention or condition.

According to Kolbarnews, on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, security forces raided Arash Azizi’s family home, arrested him violently without presenting a judicial warrant, and transferred him to an unknown location. Since that time, no official response has been provided regarding the fate of this adolescent.

According to received information, Arash Azizi has been deprived of the right to access a lawyer during his detention, and he has not been allowed telephone contact or visits with his family, which has increased serious concern among his relatives regarding his life and health.
