Sana Tousangi, a 12-year-old Kurdish schoolgirl and a follower of the Yarsan faith, originally from Kermanshah and a resident of the city of Hashtgerd, is one of the victims of the nationwide protests in this city who lost her life as a result of gunfire by forces of the Islamic Republic.

According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Friday, January 9, 2026, at around 9:00 p.m., simultaneous with the intensification of street repression in Hashtgerd, security forces turned off street lights and opened direct fire toward citizens. During this attack, Sana Tousangi, a 19-year-old Kurdish student from Kermanshah and a resident of Hashtgerd, was shot with live ammunition from behind in the area in front of the governor’s office and on the boulevard known as “Ayatollah Khamenei.” According to received information, one bullet struck her lower back and another hit the back of her head, and she died instantly.
The body of Sana Tousangi was buried under strict security measures and in the presence of plainclothes forces.
Security institutions, through pressure, forced her family to sign commitments and prevented the holding of a public ceremony. This deceased child was forcibly buried in Nazarabad Cemetery near Hashtgerd, in a remote location, and the family was not allowed to transfer her body to her hometown in Kermanshah Province.
After the burial, the family has continued to face pressure from security institutions.
