As the arrest of civil activists and citizens continues, Sabah Valadbeygi, a retired teacher, environmental activist, and head of the Noor Mountaineering Group in Paveh, along with his brother, Nozad Valadbeygi, has been arrested by security forces. Reports indicate that Sabah Valadbeygi has been transferred to a security detention facility in Kermanshah, while the whereabouts and condition of Nozad Valadbeygi remain unknown.

According to information received by Kolbarnews, on the evening of Wednesday, July 1, 2026, Intelligence Department forces raided the family home of Sabah Valadbeygi in the village of Nuryaw, in Paveh County, and arrested him without presenting a judicial warrant.
Sabah Valadbeygi is a retired teacher, a well-known environmental activist, the head of the Noor Mountaineering Group in Paveh, and a former district governor of Bayangan and the Central District of Paveh.
According to published reports, one day after his arrest, he briefly contacted his family by telephone and informed them that he had been transferred to a security detention facility in the city of Kermanshah for interrogation. Eleven days after his arrest, he continues to be denied access to a lawyer of his own choosing and in-person visits with his family. The security authorities have also refused to provide any information regarding his condition or legal case.
At the same time, Nozad Valadbeygi, the brother of Sabah Valadbeygi, was also arrested by Intelligence Department forces in recent days. So far, no information is available regarding his place of detention, physical condition, or the reasons for his arrest, and his fate remains unknown.
The continued arrest of citizens without due legal process, the denial of access to legal counsel, and the withholding of information from families have heightened concerns over violations of the rights of detainees in Kurdistan.
