Security forces of the Islamic Republic raided the home of Kamal Piranpour, a resident of Mahabad, arrested him without presenting a judicial warrant, and transferred him to an undisclosed location.

According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Tuesday, 7 July 2026, security agents entered the home of Kamal Piranpour, a 43-year-old resident of Mahabad and the son of Hassan, and arrested him without presenting any judicial warrant.
According to information received from an informed source, he was transferred to an undisclosed location following his arrest.
According to the report, the security forces took Kamal Piranpour away without providing any explanation regarding the reason for his arrest or the authority responsible for his case. To date, no official information has been released concerning his condition, and his family remains unaware of his place of detention.
The arrest of citizens without judicial warrants, their transfer to undisclosed detention facilities, and the denial of fundamental rights “including access to legal counsel, contact with family members, and information regarding the reasons for their arrest” are practices that have repeatedly been criticised by human rights organisations in Iran and Kurdistan.
The continued use of these practices has heightened concerns over the safety and well-being of detainees and constitutes a violation of the principles of due process and fundamental human rights.
