Two teenage Baloch Sukhtbars were killed and injured in a vehicle overturn accident in Rask County.
According to Kolbarnews, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, two teenage Baloch Sukhtbars were involved in a vehicle rollover on the route from Pirkoor to Pishamag in Rask County, resulting in one death and one serious injury.
The deceased Sukhtbar was identified as Belal Balochkari (Dehani), 17, from the village of Nowkabad, and the injured teenager as Beniyamin Dehani, 17, also from Nowkabad.
The report states that the accident occurred at 2 p.m., and due to the lack of mobile phone coverage, families and others could not be informed in time. Belal Balochkari died at the scene from severe injuries, particularly to the head, while Beniyamin Dehani was taken to Khatam al-Anbiya Hospital in Iranshahr in critical condition.
Sukhtbari is considered one of the unconventional and dangerous jobs that many Baloch people in Balochistan have been forced to turn to due to the lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct gunfire from military and security forces are among the dangers that threaten the lives of these Sukhtbars. According to reports from Baloch activists, in the year 2024, at least 375 Baloch Sukhtbars have been injured or lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires. Of this number, 240 Sukhtbars were killed and 135 were injured, representing a 55% increase in the number of killed and injured Sukhtbars compared to the year 2023.
