Qorveh; Arrest of Six Kurdish Citizens, Including Two Brothers, and Continued Lack of Information About Their Condition

Six citizens from the city of Qorveh, named Majid Bagheri, Ali Bagheri, Moslem Cheraghi, Mousa Makhdoumi, Yousef Dehqani, and Anvar Alipanah, have been arrested by government forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and no precise information has been released regarding their condition or place of detention.

According to Kolbarnews, on Saturday, February 14, 2026, Moslem Cheraghi, a 23-year-old young man from Qorveh, was arrested by government forces in front of his workplace, a belt workshop located on Imam Ali Boulevard, and transferred to an unknown location.

Also, on Friday, February 13, 2026, Majid Bagheri was arrested following a raid by security forces on his family home in the “Bouali Jonoubi” neighborhood. The forces searched the house without presenting a judicial warrant and confiscated several personal belongings and the family’s vehicle. During the raid, his wife suffered severe nervous shock and was transferred to the hospital.

On the same night, government forces entered the “Cafe Kurdistan,” Sarab branch, and after removing customers and interrogating staff, arrested Ali Bagheri, the brother of Majid Bagheri. Despite the passage of several days, security and judicial institutions have provided no explanation regarding the reasons for their arrest, charges, or place of detention, and the family’s follow-ups have remained unsuccessful.

In continuation of these arrests, Mousa Makhdoumi and Yousef Dehqani, two hospital staff members in Qorveh, were arrested during nationwide protests in the city by government forces and transferred to an unknown location. According to an informed source, their arrest was related to performing their professional duties in providing aid and medical treatment to injured protesters. However, authorities have not provided any information regarding their legal status, charges, or place of detention.

Additionally, Anvar Alipanah, another citizen from Qorveh, was arrested during the nationwide protests of January 2026 and remains in an uncertain condition in the city’s central prison. Despite the passage of time since his arrest, judicial and security authorities have refused to provide transparent information about the progress of his case or his legal status.

As of the time of preparing this report, no clear information is available regarding the charges, place of detention, or fate of these six Kurdish citizens.
