Mahmoud Sadeghi, a political prisoner from Kamiyaran, remains deprived of the right to temporary leave despite the passage of nearly ten years since his arrest and imprisonment, and this deprivation continues while his family has been pursuing his temporary release on leave in recent months.

According to Kolbarnews, Mahmoud Sadeghi was arrested on October 16, 2016, by security forces without the presentation of a judicial warrant and, after several months of interrogation and detention in security detention centers, was transferred to Sanandaj Prison.
According to one of Mahmoud Sadeghi’s relatives, during the past month it had been planned for him to be granted leave upon the posting of bail amounting to 10 billion tomans, but the head of the court rejected his leave request citing the war between the United States and Israel against Iran.
This political prisoner was sentenced in October 2019 by Branch One of the Criminal Court One of Kurdistan Province to 30 years of discretionary imprisonment on charges of “complicity in murder” and “cooperation with one of the Kurdish opposition parties against the government of Iran.” In addition, in March of the same year, Branch One of the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj, presided over by Judge Saeedi, sentenced him to another 25 years of discretionary imprisonment on the charge of “complicity in rebellion.”
The continued deprivation of this political prisoner from the right to temporary leave is taking place under circumstances in which depriving prisoners of their legal and human rights, including access to leave, has consistently been criticized by human rights organizations.
