Islamabad-e Gharb; Arrest of Khan-Aziz Esmaeili, Board Member of the Teachers’ Trade Association

Khan-Aziz Esmaeili, an educator from Islamabad-e Gharb and a board member of the Islamabad-e Gharb Teachers’ Trade Association, was arrested by security forces.

According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, February 22, 2026, Khan-Aziz Esmaeili was arrested following a raid by security forces on his private residence and without the presentation of a judicial warrant, and he was transferred to an undisclosed location. During this operation, the mobile phones of all his family members were also confiscated by security forces, and no information has yet been obtained about his place of detention or condition.

The Coordinating Council of Teachers’ Trade Associations, in a statement confirming the news, announced that this labor activist suffers from underlying medical conditions and requires continuous medical care and attention.

Expressing concern about Khan-Aziz Esmaeili’s physical condition, the council held the responsible authorities accountable for any potential consequences for his health and called for his immediate and unconditional release.
