In continuation of the widespread wave of arrests of citizens in Ilam Province, 10 young people and teenagers in the cities of Ilam, Abdanan, Asemanabad, Darreh-Shahr, and Chavar were arrested by security forces and transferred to undisclosed locations.
According to Kolbarnews, on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, five citizens named Behzad Sefidkhani from Ilam, Mojtaba Mohammadvali from Abdanan, Alireza Nazari, a 17-year-old teenager from Asemanabad in Chardavol County, Hossein Maqsoudi, a 15-year-old teenager from Darreh-Shahr, and Amirali Lotfi, a 15-year-old teenager from Darreh-Shahr, were arrested without the presentation of a judicial warrant.
According to received information, Mojtaba Mohammadvali had previously also faced case fabrication by security institutions during the Jina Revolutionary uprising.
Also, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, four other citizens named Pouria Soltanian, 22 years old, from Asemanabad, Amir Saeed Chaartareh from Abdanan, Saman Soleimani, a teenager from the village of Haft Cheshmeh in Abdanan, and Adib Nazari from Abdanan were arrested.
According to Kolbar News, during the arrest of Saman Soleimani, security forces clashed with residents of Haft Cheshmeh village and fired live ammunition and tear gas to disperse the people. Several vehicles belonging to citizens were also damaged during this raid.
In continuation of these arrests, on Monday, February 16, 2026, Hamid Maleki, 37 years old, from the village of “Arkavazi” in Chavar, was also arrested by security forces.
As of the time of publication of this report, the reasons for the arrest of these 10 citizens have not been announced, and security and judicial institutions have not been responsive. Their place of detention and condition remain unknown, and most of these detainees have been deprived of the right to contact their families and access a lawyer.
