In continuation of the wave of arbitrary and mass arrests of Kurdish citizens in Ilam Province, in recent days two more Kurdish citizens were arrested by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.

According to Kolbarnews, on February 8, 2026, Mohammadmehdi Baralak, a 19-year-old young man from the city of Lumar, a district of Sirvan County, was arrested by security forces without a judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location.
According to Kolbarnews, on February 6, 2026, Ali Namizad, a Kurdish citizen from Ilam, was arrested following a raid by security forces on his private home and without a judicial warrant, and transferred to an unknown location. Four days after his arrest, there is still no information available about his place of detention or condition.
Ali Namizad is a shopkeeper and has two young children, and during his detention he has been deprived of the right to access a lawyer as well as contact and visits with his family, and this situation has caused serious concern for his family.
