In continuation of the widespread arrests of citizens in Ilam Province, 9 citizens in the cities of Abdanan and Sarableh were arbitrarily arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic.

According to Kolbarnews, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the same time as the fortieth-day memorial ceremony of “Alireza Seydi,” a 16-year-old teenager from Abdanan who had previously been killed in Tehran, seven Kurdish citizens from Abdanan named Saeed Naderi, 35 years old, Hossein Behnama, 27 years old, resident of Hezarani township, Abolfazl Darbandi, 20 years old, resident of Hezarani township, Behzad Akbari, 35 years old, Saeed Yari, Mohammadamin Nazari, and Yousef Khatawi, were arrested by security forces.
Also, on Monday, February 16, 2026, two other citizens named “Amin Farajollahi,” 27 years old, from Abdanan, and “Sirus Ghobadi,” from Sarableh, were arrested by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.
According to received information, these arrests were carried out without the presentation of a judicial warrant, and until the time of publication of this report, the security institutions have provided no explanation regarding the reasons for the arrests, the place of detention, or the condition of these Kurdish citizens. The lack of information about their situation has increased the concerns of their families regarding the lives and fate of these detainees.
