Reza Darvishi, a 27-year-old resident of Eslamabad-e Gharb, is another victim of the nationwide protests in the city who lost his life after being shot with live ammunition by government forces during the crackdown on demonstrators.

According to Kolbarnews, Reza Darvishi, a 27-year-old from Eslamabad-e Gharb in Kermanshah Province, was shot and killed on the evening of Thursday, January 7, 2026, during public protests in the city, near the Imam Hossein Mosque in Shabad. He was struck by direct live gunfire from the forces of the Islamic Republic and died at the scene.
The body of this victim was buried on Saturday, January 10, 2026, amid a large public turnout, with mourners chanting slogans such as “Martyr of the path to freedom.”
As of the time of this report, it is unclear whether Darvishi’s family was forced to pay money or sign a written pledge in order to receive his body. However, informed sources had previously told Kolbarnews that government institutions in Kermanshah Province have demanded sums ranging from 700 million to one billion tomans from families in exchange for handing over the bodies of those killed during the protests, leaving families with little choice but to comply.
