Meisam Veisi and Mojtaba Veisi, two brothers, well-known cultural and civil activists and followers of the Yarsan faith, were killed after Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces raided their hideout in Dalahoo County and opened direct fire.

According to Kolbarnews, in the early hours of Thursday, May 28, 2026, IRGC forces completely surrounded the residence of Meisam Veisi and his brother Mojtaba Veisi in the village of Qal’eh Kahoush, located in Dalahu County, Kermanshah Province.
Reports indicate that armed forces opened fire on the residential building from multiple directions without prior warning, resulting in the deaths of the two brothers at the scene.
Reports further state that no information has been available regarding the condition or whereabouts of Farshad Hatamipour since the attack. His family remains unaware of his fate, location, or whether he has been detained.
Meisam and Mojtaba Veisi were prominent cultural figures in Kermanshah and among the founders of the Kurdish library in the Dareh Derij (Mahdieh) district.
They also played active roles in organizing Newroz celebrations in the area. In addition to his civil activities, Mojtaba Veisi was a wrestler and a well-known figure in the sport within Kermanshah Province.
The two brothers had previously faced repeated pressure from security agencies because of their cultural, identity-based, and religious activities. Mojtaba Veisi was arrested on March 5, 2025, while helping organize Newroz celebrations in Shirin Park in Kermanshah.
After spending 18 days in solitary confinement and being transferred to Dizel-Abad Prison, he was temporarily released on March 29, 2025, on bail of 700 million tomans.
Meisam Veisi had also previously been arrested and prosecuted in connection with protests in the Yarsan-majority neighborhood of Dareh Derij. According to published reports, following nationwide protests last winter, both brothers were pursued by security forces and had gone into hiding due to fears of arrest and threats to their lives.
