Tehran; Death of Yasin Elahi, an 18-Year-Old Kurdish Youth from Ilam, by Live Ammunition

Yasin Elahi, an 18-year-old young man from Ilam Province, was killed by direct live gunfire from government forces during nationwide protests in Tehran.

According to Kolbarnews, Yasin Elahi, an 18-year-old from the village of “Abanar,” a district of Abdanan County in Ilam Province, was shot directly in the chest with live ammunition from a Kalashnikov rifle by government forces on the evening of Friday, January 9, 2026, during nationwide protests in Tehran, in the area of “Dolatabad Second Square,” and lost his life.

After being transferred to the Legal Medicine Organization, the body of this citizen was buried at Ibn Babuyeh Cemetery in the city of Rey, Tehran Province.
