Tehran; Death of Rezvan Abdi, a Young Kurdish Woman, by Direct Gunfire from Suppressive Forces During nationwide protests

Rezvan Abdi, a 24-year-old Kurdish citizen from Divandarreh and a resident of Tehran, is the identity of one of those killed in the nationwide protests in Tehran who lost her life during the street crackdown.

According to Kolbarnews, on Friday, January 9, 2026, Rezvan Abdi was killed during nationwide protests in the city of Tehran after being directly shot by government suppressive forces with live ammunition. This young woman had lost her mother years earlier and was living in Tehran with her grandfather’s family, and she was active in the field of modeling.

According to obtained information, after her death, the body of Rezvan Abdi was transferred to her native village of “Tazeh Abad Vazir” in Divandarreh County and buried under strict security measures. Reports indicate that security pressure was exerted on her family to hold a limited burial ceremony.
