Majid Daryaei, a citizen from Oshnavieh, was arrested to serve a one-year discretionary prison sentence and transferred to the central prison of the city.
According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, January 18, 2026, Majid Daryaei was arrested following a summons by Branch One of the Criminal Sentences Enforcement Office of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office of Oshnavieh and was then transferred to Oshnavieh Central Prison to serve his sentence.
According to available information, this Kurdish citizen had previously been sentenced by Branch 101 of the Oshnavieh Criminal Court (Second Class) to one year of discretionary imprisonment on the charge of “propaganda activity in favor of one of the opposition parties.”
Majid Daryaei had also been summoned on Wednesday, April 8, 2025, to Branch One of the Investigative Office of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office of Oshnavieh and, after being formally charged, was temporarily released on bail pending court sessions.
This citizen has previously been arrested due to his activities and has faced imprisonment and long-term security pressure by government institutions in past periods.
