Malekshahi; Four citizens killed after IRGC opened fire on protesters in Malekshahi

During protests in Malekshahi County, gunfire by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) against protesters left at least four people dead and more than 30 injured.

According to Kolbarnews, following today’s protests on Saturday, January 3, 2026, in the city of Malekshahi, Ilam Province, at least four citizens were killed by gunfire from IRGC forces.
The identities of those killed have been reported as Reza Azimzadeh, Farez Agha-Mohammadi, Mohammad Bazouneh, and Mehdi Emami-Pour.

Based on this report, the protests took place on Farmandari Boulevard, in front of the Basij Resistance building, where IRGC forces opened direct fire on protesters.

It is reported that more than 30 other people were injured and transferred to hospitals in Malekshahi and Imam Khomeini Hospital in Ilam, with the condition of some described as critical.
