Kermanshah; Farzad Kheirdar, a 37-Year-Old Kurdish Man, Lost His Life During nationwide Protests

Farzad Kheirdar, a 37-year-old man from Kermanshah and a mechanical engineer, lost his life after being directly shot with live ammunition by suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic during nationwide protests in the city.

According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026, Farzad Kheirdar was targeted by gunfire from government forces during nationwide protests in Kermanshah and lost his life.

It is still unclear whether the family was required to pay money or sign a written pledge in order to receive the body.

Local sources had previously reported that government institutions demanded amounts ranging from 700 million to one billion tomans from families in Kermanshah in exchange for handing over the bodies of those killed, forcing families to pay these sums.
