Nima Jafari, a Kurdish activist from Eyvan-e Gharb in Ilam Province, died during detention in one of the detention centers in Bandar Abbas, and his body was handed over to his family under strict security measures.

According to Kolbarnews, on Friday, February 6, 2026, Nima Jafari had been arrested by security institutions, and on Thursday, February 12, 2026, his body was handed over under the control of security forces and on the condition of enforced silence imposed on his family.

According to obtained information, after his death, Nima Jafari’s family faced pressure, threats, and security restrictions to prevent them from informing the public about the details of the case and the circumstances of his death.
According to informed sources, signs of mistreatment and violence during detention were observed on the body of this Kurdish activist, and this issue has so far been accompanied by censorship and lack of transparency by responsible institutions.

Nima Jafari had previously been active for a period in the ranks of Komala Kurdistan as a Peshmerga and had returned to Iran about two years ago due to family problems.
However, his sudden arrest and death in detention have once again intensified concerns about the condition of detainees, the absence of independent oversight over security centers, and the continued violation of fundamental rights of citizens.
