Kermanshah; Death of Five Citizens, Including Two Women, During Protests by Direct Gunfire from Government Forces

Continuing the bloody suppression of nationwide protests in Kermanshah, at least five citizens, including two women, named Mohammadmehdi Badri, Melika Shahmoradi, Hassan Fallahi, and Elham Zeynali in the cities of Kermanshah, and Reza Darvishi in Eslamabad-e Gharb, lost their lives after being directly shot by forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to Kolbarnews, five citizens named Mohammadmehdi Badri, Melika Shahmoradi, Hassan Fallahi, and Elham Zeynali were killed by direct gunfire from government suppressive forces during nationwide protests in the city of Kermanshah, and Reza Darvishi was killed during protests in the city of Eslamabad-e Gharb.

On the evening of Friday, January 9, 2026, Hassan Fallahi, a follower of the Yarsan faith and a resident of the village of “Saraeilan Tohkhaki,” a district of Kermanshah, lost his life after being shot from behind with live ammunition by government forces during nationwide protests in the Elahiyeh neighborhood of Kermanshah. Government forces prevented the burial of his body in the city of Kermanshah, forcing his family to bury him in his birthplace, the village of “Saraeilan Tohkhaki.” His burial ceremony was held on January 11, 2026, under a heavy security atmosphere, during which attendees chanted protest slogans expressing opposition to the government.

On the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026, Melika Shahmoradi (Dastyab), 21 years old, a follower of the Yarsan faith and a resident of Kerend-e Gharb, the center of Dalahu County, lost her life after being directly shot by government forces during popular protests in the Moallem neighborhood of Kermanshah. Her body was buried in her hometown following a funeral ceremony attended by a large number of people.

On the same day, Mohammadmehdi Badri, a citizen from Kermanshah, lost his life after being directly shot by government forces during nationwide protests on Taq-e Bostan Boulevard in the city.

Also on Thursday, January 8, 2026, Elham Zeynali, a supervisor at Imam Ali Hospital in Kermanshah, was killed after being shot from behind with live ammunition by government forces. She was wounded in the lower back, abdomen, and uterus and, after being transferred to hospital, underwent major surgery but died due to the severity of her injuries. Her body was buried on January 13, 2026, at Bagh-e Ferdows Cemetery in the city of Kermanshah.

During the protests on Thursday, January 8, 2026, in Eslamabad-e Gharb, Reza Darvishi, a 27-year-old young man from the city, was first severely injured by pellet gunfire near the Imam Hossein Mosque. Government forces then shot him in the heart with a Kalashnikov rifle while he was lying on the ground, killing him. His burial ceremony was held on January 10, 2026, in the village of Tajar Karam-Panahabad.
