Sherko Tabnak, a former political prisoner and a citizen from Bukan, has been arrested by forces of the Intelligence Department and, after several days, remains in an unknown situation.
According to Kolbarnews on Saturday, April 25, 2026, Sherko Tabnak, 38 years old, was arrested following a raid by Intelligence Department forces on his family home in Bukan, without the presentation of a judicial warrant.
Based on the information obtained, this arrest was carried out with the use of violence, and he was transferred to an unknown location after his arrest.
Sherko Tabnak had previously also been arrested several times by security institutions due to his political and civil activities. In the past, he had been sentenced at least twice to imprisonment by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran and was released after completing his sentences.
After four days since the time of his arrest, no precise information has been published regarding the reasons for his arrest, the charges brought against him, or his place of detention, and the lack of information about his situation has caused serious concern for his family.
