Between January 10 and January 26, 2026, security forces of the Islamic Republic arrested at least 15 Kurdish citizens in various cities and villages of Ilam Province. These individuals were arrested without the presentation of any judicial warrant and transferred to unknown locations. Despite several days to more than nineteen days having passed since the arrest of some of these citizens, families remain unaware of their condition, place of detention, and possible charges.

According to Kolbarnews, the arrests have mostly involved sudden raids by security forces on homes, the use of physical violence, beatings, and in a number of cases extensive destruction of houses. Local sources have described these actions as part of an intensification of the security atmosphere and repression in Ilam Province.

Kian Negahdar, an employee of Dehloran Petrochemical, was arrested eight days ago following a violent raid by security forces on his personal home and transferred to Ilam Prison; during the raid, his house was completely ransacked.
