Dr. Hossein Shokri, Saber Basati, Noureddin Chalanger, Faraj Arsan, Elias Javanmard, and Ahmad Sheikhi, six citizens from various cities and villages of Ilam Province, have been arrested in recent weeks amid the continued widespread and violent arrests carried out by security forces of the Islamic Republic.

According to Kolbarnews, from January 9 to January 26, 2026, Dr. Hossein Shokri, Saber Basati, Noureddin Chalanger, Faraj Arsan, Elias Javanmard, and Ahmad Sheikhi, six citizens of Ilam Province, were arrested by security forces without the presentation of judicial warrants and transferred to unknown locations.
According to available information, Dr. Hossein Shokri, a citizen from Ilam, was arrested on January 25, 2026, and after eight days there is still no information about his place of detention or legal status.
Saber Basati, a 38-year-old man from Ilam and a resident of Karaj, was arrested on January 9, 2026, and has been in a state of complete lack of information for 24 days.
Noureddin Chalanger, a 30-year-old Kurdish man from Chardavol, was arrested on January 26, 2026, and seven days have passed with no information about his fate.
Faraj Arsan, a citizen from Malekshahi and a civil and environmental activist, was arrested on January 10, 2026, and after 23 days remains in detention. He had previously been arrested on April 3, 2024, for participating in Nowruz celebrations.
Elias Javanmard, a citizen from Lumar, was arrested on January 19, 2026, and after 14 days his situation remains unclear.
Ahmad Sheikhi, a citizen from Dehloran and an employee of the Water Department, was arrested on January 22, 2026, and 11 days have passed since his arrest.
According to this report, all of these citizens are being held in unknown locations and have been denied access to a lawyer and family visits. As of the time of this report, no official information regarding the charges against them is available.
