Sanandaj: Idris Monabari sent to Sanandaj Prison to serve his sentence

Idris Monabari, a member of the board of directors of the Nozhin Association and one of those arrested during the Jina (Mahsa Amini) revolutionary movement, has been arrested to serve his prison sentence and transferred to Sanandaj Prison.

According to Kolbarnews, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, Idris Monabari, a board member of the Nozhin Cultural and Social Association and one of the detainees of the Jina revolutionary movement, was arrested and transferred to Sanandaj Prison to begin serving his sentence.

On December 9, 2024, Branch 1 of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court sentenced Monabari to two years in prison on the charge of “forming a group with the intent to disrupt national security.” One year of that sentence was suspended for three years.

Previously, in October–November 2023, the same court had sentenced him to ten years in prison on the same charge, but the appeals court overturned the verdict and returned the case for reconsideration.

In September–October 2023, in another part of his case, Branch 106 of the Sanandaj Criminal Court (Second Division) sentenced him to one year in prison and 40 lashes.

Monabari was first arrested on December 18, 2022, at his home in Sanandaj in connection with the Jina Amini movement, and was released on bail in February 2023.

Idris Monabari is a resident of Sanandaj and a member of the board of directors of the Nozhin Cultural and Social Association.
