Tehran; Death of Armin Asadi by Close-Range Shotgun Pellet Fire

Armin Asadi, a 29-year-old Kurdish young man from Salmas and a resident of Tehran, is among those killed during the protests in Tehran, who lost his life as a result of being struck by shotgun pellets.

According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, Armin Asadi was targeted from behind and at very close range by shotgun pellet fire from the suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic government while standing in front of his workplace and near the entrance of his shop.
As a result of this shooting, pellets struck the back of his neck, liver, and lower leg, and the severity of the injuries led to his death.
According to received information, this Kurdish citizen was employed as a shopkeeper and was present at his workplace at the time of the shooting.

Armin Asadi was originally from the village of “Yengejeh,” located in Salmas County, and had gone to Tehran for work and livelihood. His body was buried on Saturday, January 10, 2026, in the cemetery of Salmas.

During the process of handing over the body of this victim, security institutions imposed pressure on the family, setting conditions of media silence and refraining from holding large funeral ceremonies, and the transfer of the body was carried out under security restrictions and the presence of government forces.
