Karaj; Death of Three Members of a Family from Songhor and Kolyai by Direct Gunfire from Government Forces

During nationwide protests in the city of Karaj, three members of a family from Songhor and Kolyai in Kermanshah Province were killed by direct gunfire from forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Friday, January 9, 2026, Bijan Mostafavi, 55, a retired education employee, along with his wife Zahra Baniamerian, 48, a retired Social Security employee, and their son Daniel Mostafavi, 19, a computer science student, were inside their private vehicle in the city of Karaj when they were directly shot by government forces and lost their lives.
According to informed sources, the bodies of these three deceased citizens were transferred to the city of Songhor and, under strict security measures, without the consent of the family and under pressure from government forces, were buried in recent days before 6:00 a.m.

According to this report, Davoud Mostafavi, the eldest son of this family, was also present in the vehicle at the time of the shooting and survived despite being shot, but no information about his physical condition has been released so far.
