Karaj; Death of Mehrdad Kermajani by Direct Gunfire from Military Forces

Mehrdad Kermajani, a young Kurdish citizen from Kangavar County in Kermanshah Province, lost his life after being directly shot with live ammunition by government forces during nationwide protests in the city of Karaj.

According to Kolbarnews, on Friday, January 9, 2026, “Mehrdad Kermajani,” a young citizen from Kangavar County in Kermanshah Province, was killed by direct live gunfire from suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic.
Based on the information received, this citizen was directly shot with live ammunition on Friday evening during nationwide protests in the city of Karaj and lost his life.

According to the information obtained, Mehrdad Kermajani was originally Lak and from Kangavar County in Kermanshah Province.

As of the time of preparing this report, it is not known whether the body of this deceased citizen has been handed over to his family, nor is there any information available regarding the payment of money or the imposition of a written pledge on the family for the release of the body.
