Farshad Barati, a Kurdish citizen from Dargaz in Razavi Khorasan and a resident of Gorgan, after 27 days since his arrest, is still being held in a state of uncertainty in Gorgan Prison and has been deprived of his basic legal rights.

According to Kolbarnews, on Wednesday, January 26, 2026, Farshad Barati was arrested without the presentation of a judicial warrant following a nighttime raid by security forces on his personal residence and was transferred to an unknown location. After the completion of interrogation procedures, this citizen was transferred to the ward for political prisoners in Gorgan Prison, but despite nearly a month having passed since his arrest, the status of his case remains unclear and no clear legal order has been announced for him.

According to the information received, during the interrogation period in the unknown location as well as after his transfer to Gorgan Prison, he has been deprived of the right to access a lawyer of his choice and to meet with his family. The continuation of this situation has increased the concerns of his family and relatives regarding his conditions of detention and the judicial process.

Farshad Barati is originally from the Kormanj Kurds of Dargaz in Razavi Khorasan Province and has lived in Gorgan for years. He is married and the father of two children, and his arrest and continued uncertainty have had serious consequences for his family.
