A Baloch Sukhtbar, was killed in a landmine explosion near the Ruteck border area in Golshan County.

According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, August 3, 2025, a Baloch Sukhtbar traveling in the border region between Ruteck and Mak-Sukhteh lost his life after his vehicle struck a landmine reportedly planted by IRGC forces.
The victim has been identified as Samad Gomshadzehi, son of Ahmad, from the village of Javanakan in Golshan County.
Reports indicate that Gomshadzehi was transporting fuel when his Sukhtbari vehicle detonated a mine, resulting in a fatal explosion.
It is worth noting that in a previous landmine incident in the same area on July 3, 2025, another Baloch citizen, Salim Rigi, 27, son of Dadrahman, lost both legs due to a mine explosion.
The IRGC’s placement of unmarked landmines in Mak-Sukhteh and other parts of the Baluchistan border region continues to endanger the lives and safety of civilians.
Sukhtbari is considered one of the unconventional and dangerous jobs that many Baloch people in Balochistan have been forced to turn to due to the lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct gunfire from military and security forces are among the dangers that threaten the lives of these Sukhtbars. According to reports from Baloch activists, in the year 2024, at least 375 Baloch Sukhtbars have been injured or lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires. Of this number, 240 Sukhtbars were killed and 135 were injured, representing a 55% increase in the number of killed and injured Sukhtbars compared to the year 2023.
