Darreh Shahr; Continued Detention and Uncertain Status of Four Kurdish Citizens in Tehran and Karaj Prisons

Ali Amraei, Amir Amraei, Kamyar Amraei, and Mohammad Shamsi, four Kurdish citizens from the city of Darreh Shahr in Ilam Province, have been detained for more than one month by forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tehran and Karaj and remain in an uncertain condition.

According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, Ali Amraei was arrested in Tehran by government forces.
Also, on Friday, January 9, 2026, Amir Amraei, Kamyar Amraei, and Mohammad Shamsi were arrested in Karaj and transferred to security detention centers.

According to obtained information, Kamyar Amraei is 22 years old, Amir Amraei is 23 years old, and Ali Amraei and Mohammad Shamsi are both 29 years old. According to received reports, Ali Amraei is being held in Greater Tehran Prison, and the other three citizens are imprisoned in Qezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.

Despite continuous efforts by their families to convert their detention orders into bail and secure their temporary release, their requests have so far been unsuccessful, and the detention orders for these four citizens have been extended.
