Sara Kavandi and Melika Kavandi, two sisters from Bijar, were arrested by government forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the city of Karaj and transferred to Kachouei Prison in the city.

According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, February 8, 2026, government forces raided Melika Kavandi’s home in Karaj and arrested her along with her sister Sara Kavandi, transferring them to Kachouei Prison. Melika Kavandi is 38 years old and Sara Kavandi is 47 years old.

The arrest of Sara and Melika Kavandi took place while they had recently lost their father and were in a poor psychological condition.
