Bojnord; One Month of Arbitrary Detention and Complete Lack of Information About the Fate of Aref Khanzadeh

Aref Khanzadeh, a 17-year-old Kurdish teenager from Bojnord, has been in detention for one month, and there is still no information about his condition, place of detention, or fate. Concerns about his safety and future have significantly increased.

According to Kolbarnews, on Friday, January 9, 2026, Aref Khanzadeh was arrested by security forces without the presentation of any judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location. Since his arrest, no official authority has provided clear information about his status. According to received information, Aref Khanzadeh’s family has repeatedly contacted security and judicial institutions to obtain information about their child’s fate, but these efforts have remained unsuccessful.

During this one-month detention, the teenager has been completely deprived of access to a lawyer, in-person visits, and telephone contact with his family. The continuation of this situation has created serious concerns about his physical and psychological health, as well as his overall fate, among his family and relatives.
