Bojnord; 27 Days of Arbitrary Detention and Uncertainty of Sajad Baghcheqi

Sajad Baghcheqi, a 19-year-old Kurdish young man from the Kurmanj Kurds residing in Bojnord in North Khorasan Province, remains in a state of uncertainty in Bojnord Prison 27 days after his arrest, and his family is deeply concerned about his life and fate.

According to Kolbar News, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, Sajad Baghcheqi was arrested by security forces without presenting any judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location. After some time, this Kurdish citizen was transferred to Bojnord Prison and has remained in detention since his arrest without being formally informed of specific charges.

According to received information, Sajad Baghcheqi has been deprived of the right to telephone contact, family visits, and access to a lawyer during this period. The continued lack of information about the legal and judicial status of this Kurdish young man has increased concerns among his family and relatives regarding his physical and mental health.
