Urmia; Continued Detention and Uncertainty Over a Citizen’s Whereabouts

Farideh Ketabi Miandoab, a resident of Urmia, remains in an uncertain condition six days after her arrest, and no precise information has been released regarding her place of detention or her situation.

According to Kolbarnews, on Friday, March 27, 2026, security forces entered the private home of Farideh Ketabi Miandoab in Urmia, searched the house without presenting a judicial warrant, and arrested her.
Farideh Ketabi is the mother of Sareh Sedighi (Zahra Sedighi Hamedani), a queer rights activist and former political prisoner, and according to available information, she suffers from diabetes.

According to informed sources, despite continuous follow-ups by her family to obtain information about her condition and place of detention, the responsible institutions have refused to provide any response, increasing concerns about her health and detention conditions.
