Tehran; Death of Mehdi Rahmati, a Citizen from Divandarreh, in Nationwide Protests

Mehdi Rahmati, a citizen from the village of “Sarab Qareh Khan,” a district of Divandarreh and a resident of Tehran, is identified as another victim of the nationwide protests.

According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, Mehdi Rahmati, a citizen from the village of “Sarab Qareh Khan,” a district of Divandarreh and a resident of Tehran, was targeted during nationwide protests in Tehran by direct fire of multiple live bullets by the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic and was killed on the spot.
The body of this Kurdish citizen was later transferred to his birthplace under security conditions and was buried in the village of “Sarab Qareh Khan.”
Based on received information, after his killing, the family of this victim has been placed under severe pressure by security institutions to refrain from informing the public about his identity, the manner of his killing, and details related to the burial ceremony, and these pressures continue.

Mehdi Rahmati was married, the father of two children, and a worker employed in Tehran.
