Tehran; Death of Amir Sadeghi, Kurdish Young Man, During Nationwide Protests

Amir Sadeghi, a 33-year-old Kurdish man originally from Bojnord and a graduate with a master’s degree in civil engineering from Sharif University of Technology, has been identified as one of the victims of the nationwide protests in Tehran.

According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, January 8, 2026 (18 Dey 1404), Amir Sadeghi was shot and killed by live ammunition fired by Iranian security forces during nationwide protests in Tehran. He was originally from the Kurdish community of Bojnord in North Khorasan Province. His body was buried on January 29, 2026 (9 Bahman 1404) at Masoumeh-Zadeh cemetery in Bojnord.

According to received information, security institutions imposed restrictions and security pressure during the process of handing over his body to the family and attempted to prevent public funeral ceremonies. These pressures, along with threats and monitoring of the family, have been described as part of broader security policies applied toward the families of those killed during nationwide protests.
